The Vision

On August 20, 2008, Minister Frances Willie-Chunn, submitted to the charge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ under the unction of the Holy Ghost to begin a new (ministry) church to glorify His name. The vision for this church had spanned over a period of 5 years.

The initial name of the ministry is Christ Ministry of Love and Acceptance to be later named Christ Church (a ministry of love and acceptance, changing lives through the Word of God). The denominational tie will be Baptist, (non-traditional in polity).

It is to begin as a ministry of Bible study for the community and the Lord will add to the ministry such as should be saved and those who will carry on His ministry. Christ Church is a Word church whose mission is evangelism.  Bible study began January 7, 2009 at the home of Pastor Willie-Chunn at 2106 Sullivan Road with two persons in attendance. The first church service was held on April 5, 2009, Palm Sunday, receiving one person into membership. The first Sunday in May 2009, Christ Church moved to 1011 Suite C, Oster Drive where it worships today.

During Christ Church initial stages, God blessed the church to receive donations of a pulpit, communion ware, and chairs from Pastor T. C. Johnson and St. Luke M. B. Church. Still, others have donated a computer fully outfitted with software and recording device so that the WORD can be sent to other cities. Thank you God!  Other donations were made in the form of chairs and money from the great saints of God who just wanted to help and who will remain anonymous.  To God be the glory!

Christ Church held its first communion service on June 7, 2009 and will continue each 1st Sunday of the month.

On August 9th, 2009, the Lord sent to our congregation as a covenant member Evangelist Patricia Flowers who is an encouraging asset to His church.

On Thursday, September 11, 2009, the Lord blessed Christ Church to receive sponsorship through the Fellowship of Faith Church, under the leadership of Pastor/Teacher Troy Garner.  To God be the glory! This is truly a provision for the vision.

Christ Church celebrated its first Founder's Day Celebration Month which began Thursday, January 7, 2010 and continued each Thursday through February 4th.  To God be the glory!

On February 26th-27th, Christ Church and Friends celebrated it’s first Women's Conference entitled: Saved Women Always Granting God Access.  The conference was held at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor T. C. Johnson.  What a wonderful and spirit filled conference our Father provided for His daughters. During this conference God blessed us with wonderful sponsors: Overseer Daniel Richardson and the Eagles Nest Family and Anonymous donors.  To God be the Glory.

We are tremendously thankful for all that God is doing in and through this ministry.  God through His own infinite wisdom touch people in this city and elsewhere to bless this church without our having to ask...hallelujah! He is amazing, therefore, we would be poor stewards if we did not honor those who so graciously obey God's nudging to help. So, we chronicle the movement of God in this church out of gratefulness. We are intentionally setting up stones of remembrance so that when our Father shall have enlarged this church, we will have laid a path so that our children and those who follow can see  how the Lord helped us. AMEN.
